Our Mission and Core Values

At NTBC we want it to always feel like family. And any strong family has certain values the members hold in common. We are dedicated to the mission given to the church by Jesus: to reach the unchurched for Him and make them into disciples first, then disciple-makers.

Here are the values we claim and stand by:

Supremacy of Jesus Christ  - Jesus Christ is the one and only Savior of mankind and is the only way for Man to be reconciled with the one true God. As God the Son, He paid the price of sin once for all and His resurrection proves the surety of eternal life for those who believe in Him as Savior and Lord of their life.
(Psalm 110:1; John 3:16; John 14:6; 1 Peter 3:18; Philippians 2:11)

Inerrancy of the Bible - The Bible is the living, inspired word of God, without error, and absolutely dependable for moral and life guidance. It is the sole source for all faith and practice.  (Psalm 119:11; 2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; Romans 15:4; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

Fellowship - The church exists in a unity of the Holy Spirit to provide a family of believers to encourage and nurture each other to be more like Christ.
(Psalm 119:63; Ephesians 4:3-6, 10-13; Hebrews 10:24-25; 1 Thessalonians 5:11-12)

Evangelism/Missions  - The primary task assigned to the church is to reach the people in our ministry area, in our nation and in our world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We must go and tell.
(2 Kings 17:27; Psalm 18:49; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)

Worship - The Mission of this church begins where it should … with the worship of the Triune God and Him alone. He is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  (Exodus 20:3; Deuteronomy 16:11; Psalm 27:4; Acts 5:42; Romans 12:1-2; Hebrews 12:28-29; John 4:23-24)

Discipling - The Great Commission tells us to go and make disciples.  Those who believe in Jesus Christ must be equipped to become fully devoted followers who reach others in His name.  (Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 4:15-24)

Acceptance - All people are created in the image of God. All are welcome and all should come to love and be loved.
(Job 31:13-15; Proverbs 22:2: Colossians 3:11-14; Romans 2:11; James 2:1-10)

Prayer - God’s people have the great privilege of personal communion with Him through prayer. To know Him and to know His will require us to be people of prayer.
(Psalm 5:3; Psalm 88:13; Acts 6:4; Romans 2:12; Ephesians 6:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Stewardship -  God is faithful to meet all our needs. We must be faithful with what He gives us so that His work can continue in our homes, our community, our nation and our world. (Malachi 3:8-10; 2 Corinthians 8:7)

Ministering to the Community - The church must meet the needs of people in order to have them listen to the message we are sent to tell. We must show the love of Christ in what we do.  (2 Kings 4; Matthew 5:13-14; James 2:16)
