2010          Columbia, SC - Year Long
Providence Home Meal - The first Tuesday of every month members of NTBC cook and serve a meal to the 36 men that live in Providence Home. The home is a temporary Christian home for men.

Wrap A Child In Love - Wrap A Child In Love is a program that makes and donates blankets to several different children's homes throughout Columbia. We have different Blanket Workshops during the year for people of all ages to come fellowship while making the blankets.

SONSETT- Seeking Options Needed as Seniors Enter Trying Times
NTBC hosts a seminar once a month for senior adults, children of senior adults and caregivers of senior adults. We have people come in and speak about different topics that will help with the caring of the seniors. Topics have included how to care for Alzheimer's patients, how to make choices on nursing facilities and how to make your home safe.
 
2010          Columbia, SC - Year Long 
Rhame Elementary School - NTBC has had several drives for the children of Rhame Elementary. We had a Book Drive as well as a Coat Drive in the early part of 2010. In August we will be hosting an Outdoor Classroom Workday to "spruce" up one of the schools outdoor classrooms. We will be landscaping, planting, weeding, building picnic tables and other small projects for the area.
 
2010          Columbia, SC - April
Palmetto Half Marathon - NTBC hosted the Palmetto Half Marathon & 5K at the Village at Sandhill. This year's goal was to benefit hunger and homelessness in Columbia. The proceeds from the marathon went to four different charities; Harvest Hope Food Bank, Alston Wilkes Veterans Home, The Family Shelter and St. Lawrence Place. With almost 1,200 runners the Palmetto Half Marathon & 5K was able to give each charity $7,000!
 
2009          Columbia, SC - Year Long
Hannah House - Hannah House is a faith-based transitional housing facility for homeless women and their children located in downtown Columbia. Their program is designed to foster personal and spiritual growth in the lives of the residents.
NTBC had two different EDGE opportunities at Hannah House in 2009. At Christmas, a team of men and women decorated the facility with Christmas decorations and a Christmas tree. Decorations were donated to the facility by members of North Trenholm. Another team was able to paint a mural in one of the main rooms at Hannah House as well as make several repairs.
 
Palmetto Place - Palmetto Place is an emergency shelter that provides a safe and nurturing environment to children who are victims of abuse and neglect. NTBC supported a computer drive for Palmetto Place, with church members donating computers, screens, keyboards and software for the children of Palmetto Place. At Christmas, a team of men and women decorated Palmetto Place with Christmas decorations and a Christmas tree. Decorations were donated to the facility by members of North Trenholm. NTBC also provided a Fun Day for the children, having games, crafts, food and fellowship.
 
SonRise 5K & FunRun - The goal of the SonRise 5k was to build community by involving the running community in Forest Acres. We also wanted to have a positive impact by raising health consciousness and by contributing proceeds to Hannah House, a local safe haven for women and children. We were able to give Hannah House $5,000.
 
 
Columbia Missions
2010          Columbia, SC - Ongoing
North Trenholm Baptist Church renovated a home adjacent to the church property and turned it into a Mission Home in 2007. The home provides a respite for missionaries who are on furlough.This beautiful three bedroom home is booked through January 2014. 
 
2010          Mission Columbia - April 5 - 8
Mission Columbia is a three day ministry to those whose homes are in need of repair.  This year we were able to help a church member reroof their home as well as paint and do yard maintenance. Each day begins with individual time with God followed by a full day of work on a home.  Students return to our Student Building in the late afternoon for a shower, a great meal, free time and nightly praise and worship
 
2010          World Changers - July 5 - 9
NTBC will be hosting World Changers beginning July 4. Over 200 youth from across the Southeast will come to Columbia to help with repairs on several local homes in our community. North Trenholm will house the youth and staff as well as serve breakfast and supper. Many of our youth will help with serving and cleaning up after meals.
 
2008          Columbia, SC - May  
NTBC has partnered with the Columbia Metro Association to furnish a three bedroom home for the homeless in the Rosewood area of Columbia.  The home will accommodate up to three men at a time.  Professional assistance will be provided to help them get on their feet and get a place of their own.  Contact the church office for a list of needed items.
 
2008          Columbia, SC - September 17 - 20
North Trenholm Baptist Church will be partnering with Habitat for Humanity to build a home for a family who lost everything in Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  They were relocated to Columbia by FEMA and have been living in an apartment since the move.  All Habitat for Humanity families work for their homes.  They contribute 350 hours of community service and home construction in order to qualify for a home.  They work right alongside the volunteers in building their own home.  They pay for their home with a 25-30 year interest free loan.  For more information on this mission project, click here.

South Carolina Missions 
2010          Student Choir Tour, Myrtle Beach, SC - June 20 - 25
NTBC's Youth Choir, Appointed, will once again take their talents to Myrtle Beach. The youth will lead Vacation Bible School for the Salvation Army's Boys and Girls Camp of Horry County. They will work with the children with crafts, Bible Stories, worship music and more while teaching them the love of Jesus.
 
2008          Mfuge Student Camp - June 16 - 21
Our students will be heading to Greenville, SC  to minister to families in several communities.  During the day, youth will lead Backyard Bible Clubs, recreation, perform construction, lead children's ministry and more.  At night, teenagers will gather with hundreds of other students for exciting worship and Bible study.
 
2008           Appointed Student Choir Tour - June 29 - July 4 
A week of ministry in Myrtle Beach, SC where our students will lead Vacation Bible School for the Salvation Army's Boys and Girls Camp of Horry county as well as provide a Family Fun Night where families will enjoy free food, events and music.  In addition, we will share God's love through music in several ministries in and around Myrtle Beach. 
 
 
North American Missions
2010        World Changers, Franklin, NC - July 19 - 24
NTBC's older youth will be going to Franklin, NC for this mission trip. They will join many other youth to do light construction work on several houses in the community. World Changers seeks to provide Christian youth with opportunities to meet the physical and spiritual needs of others through practical learning experiences that teach servant-hood and personal commitment to missions.  Click here to learn more about World Changers.
 
2009          Student Choir Tour, SonPower, Orlando, FL - June 22 - 27
SonPower provides student choirs an intense week of rehearsals, Bible study, worship, and missions that they can take home and share beyond the event’s five days. New songs, new biblical insights, and relevant mission opportunities are all brought together by key experts in student ministry and respective fields. The week culminates in a live recording session for students to lay down their own vocal tracks of the music they've learned; this session ultimately releases as the next SonPower collection.
 
International Missions
2007          Guatemala - June 25 - July 3
North Trenholm partnered with Enrique and Chrissie Coreano in Guatemala to grow a new indigenous church.  The Coreanos were members of NTBC before going to the mission field.  This was a very exciting missions opportunity for all involved.  The members of the Guatemalan church have only had Bibles in their language since 1999!  We look forward to this mission opportunity again next year!
